One of my very favorite blogs is The Itty Bitty Kitty Committee.
Laurie and Craig are the masterminds behind the Itty Bitties. They, like so many others, foster kittens from their local shelter, freeing up precious shelter space for more kitties, socializing the kittens in preparation for their new families, and finding the new families for the wee babes.
They often nurse them back to health, when the poor sweeties arrive crusty, not in the best of health, needing gentle baths and so much love.
And as you can see from the above photo (go check out their blog for more!), Laurie is an incredible photographer, with a successful craft business.
Each Summer, Laurie raises funds for her local shelter as they prepare for the annual dog-a-thon (I know, d-o-g's, but the kitties don't mind). Last year, they shattered their goal by some $20,000. Their shelter used those funds to build a quarantine wing for the kitties.
This year, they set a much higher goal - $40,000 - and they have just five more days to reach that goal.
I don't post things like this normally, but cats - and kittens - are a major part of my life, as you may have guessed by now. :) I would love to see them meet - if not shatter - this year's goal!
If you love animals, too, here's the link to help out the Ittie Bitty Kitties. Any amount is appreciated, I know!!!
And thanks for loving the kitties as much as I do.
Thanks for spreading the word, Brenda! You're awesome! xoxo Laurie and kitties
