Phydeaux Phreebies!

(Sorry, couldn't resist.)

Time for a Phydeaux giveaway! In addition to working on orders, I'm also working on brand new, never before seen scarves, cowls, neckwarmers for Winter! Even though Christmas is very nearly over, today is the Winter Solstice, shortest day of the year, and it's darn cold where I live to show it. That means a good three months of knit accessories weather. :)

So here's the contest (and I'll do these more regularly now)! Tell me in a couple of sentences (more if you need it) what you'd love to see me do next. Maybe you're dying for a particular color? Or fiber? Or special pattern? This is your chance to think up your dream Phydeaux Designs creation!

The winner will be selected via random # generation on January 1, New Year's day. But you could ALL be winners -- if I like your idea, I just may knit it (and give you credit, of course).

As usual, spread the word! You'll get additional entries for referred entries: your blog (include link please), your friends and family who enter (they need to tell me that you referred them), or other venue/means (and let me know what that is?). And, as usual, additional entry for those who are newsletter subscribers (or new subscribers), or if a new subscriber lets me know that you referred them!

Additional entries for:
  1. Current newsletter subscribers
  2. New newsletter subscribers
  3. If you referred a new newsletter subscriber (but they have to let me know in the comments below)
  4. Referred entries (but they have to let me know in the comments below)
  5. Blog or other site/venue announcement

Please please include your name and either email address or Etsy shop, so that I know how to get in touch with you!

What's the prize? A $30 Phydeaux gift certificate that will include free shipping. That's enough for a soft neckwarmer!

You have until New Year's Eve, 11:59 pm. Be creative! But note that I'm thinking about original ideas, not replicating something that someone else has already made. :)

Have fun! Can't wait to read what folks come up with!

ok here's what i would love to see... a scarf or neckwarmer that has some bling attached or dangling... just something that would add to the beauty of it. im picturing a pink-chocolatey color combo (you know why) with something vintage and delicate dangling...almost like its own little necklace hanging down. how does that sound? gorgeous, right? perfect for your gorgeous shop, right? :) mary

I would love to see some fingerless gloves that just slip over your thumb. I'm unsure how to explain them but I've seen them on people and there is something so comfortable yet easy to wear about them. Maybe even with attachable mitten toppers.

I absolutely love argyle! I would be great to see you knit a scarf in blue and teal, or grey and pink with an argyle pattern. So cute!

Thanks for the fun giveaway!

I'd love to see some great neckwarmers for guys (think about a freezing cold neck while riding a motorcycle in the winter). I also really love armwarmers and fingerless gloves. What would also be great are knitted belly warmers (that just peek out under a shirt, maybe one that is a little shorter than one would like) - basically a tube that goes around ones waist (haramaki). AND, how about the same for one's arms that lengthens a short-sleeved shirt for cooler weather?

I would like to see a Fair Isle Pattern in Pinks. Also, maybe if you could work with textures?? Lots of different fringes, etc.

I just LOVE your shop.

I think it would be neat if you did a scarflette with like rhinestone or sparkly buttons! And I think you should do more bright colours! Or have you heard of Pallaites? There shiny disks that have a med hole so you can thread them on yarn, I think it would look cute if you used something like that on your scarves.

I really like the woodland scarf...but what about this. I see you have the wrist warmers. why not make them matching the scarves but also be attachable to the inside of your coat sleeves so you can either turn them up on the sleeve or leave them down. Maybe some sort of velcro. Include the self adhering velco strips for the coats as well as the wrists with each package.
Sorry for such a wordy response.

I am lame in the idea department, which is why I am greatful for people like you who are so creative. I would like a scarf that is long and wide, in a nice dark grey, smooth texture. That would be ideal.

OR maybe plum. That would also be ideal.

I've been looking for a decent hooded cowl for quite some time now. The image I have in my head is something in deep red and gray, possibly a warm, autumn rust, but really, the color is secondary to the form. Best of luck in your search for ideas!

I am looking for something that my daughter can wear that will cover her head and ears, leave the face area open, and go down to the throat area and tuck into the jacket to keep her warm. She had one of these as an infant, but I don't see them for 7 yr olds and with the cold Maine winters she complains about her ears and throat being cold-with this, it'd be one piece to put on and keep her warm while playing outside at recess.

I would like to see a functional warm cowl with a funky beaded fringe...

I know you like to make scarves, but you need hats, too.

Have you considered making spats with buttons? They would be like your neckwarmers, but shaped differently to go onto legs.

I would love to see some tams done in soft knits and bright colors.

I would love to see a bigger cowl -- a big, deep cowl that could be worn at the neck or pulled up over the back of the head. Would also love to see some gloves/mittens to match -- fingerless gloves would be great.

I'd like to see you do a scarf in natural alpaca wool. It's supposed to be extra soft and warm. I would go with the natural colors of creams/browns.

I looked through your shop and would like you to have some darker and more intense shades. LIke green I love green but the only color you offer is an olive green maybe a darker hue. I would also like for you to have some gloves to match the scarves you sell. All in all your shop is amazing.

well I havent read all the other entries so I hope Im not repeating anything but I know I love to wear scarves throughout the spring - so I would love to see some very lightweight, maybe thinner in width, scarves with a nice open airy pattern or detailing to them - maybe with some ribbon strung throughout or little beaded accents etc. Nice neutral pale colors. Or even one like this but larger in size to wear to cover your shoulders like a small cape or shawl.
thanks!!

I would love to see some modern berets in your gorgeous chunky merino knit, or cable knit in a soft silk-wool blend. I adore wearing hats and scarves in fall and winter to change the look of my coat.
