Happy Birthday Month!

May is a big month in my family! Mother's Day, of course. Today would have been my youngest brother's (gasp) 41st birthday! I keep thinking my math must be off. By 10 years. No such luck. :) Tomorrow would have been my maternal grandpa's birthday, not sure which, but I do miss him! The 30th is MY birthday! And the 31st is my dad's birthday!

My youngest bro and I always did something fun and slightly decadent for our birthdays. Since he was a kid when I was in my early 20's, that "fun" usually consisted of videogames (remember "Space Ace," anyone???) and what we called The Food of the Gods. M&M's, Cheetos (crispy!) and Pepsi's. Yeah, we were all about healthy eating. :D

I've always celebrated Tom's birthday as a day to treat myself to something that he would have also loved. In previous years, that included a new videogame console (Legend of Zelda!). This year, my present should arrive ANY MINUTE (UPS is delivering today!):

The Canon Rebel XSi

(hee hee hee)

This is particularly special to me, because my grandpa and brother were both photographers, and I've always wanted to be one myself. I went the drawing/painting route instead when I was younger. I'm really looking forward to building my photography skills with my new baby.

Brace yourself for months and months of photos!

Oh, what a great gift! How much fun that you'll be able to think of them when you use it! May is a birthday month for us, too. I'm first, then my brother, and then my "baby" squeezes in on the 29th. And this year so many graduations!

See, May is a great month! :) June, I still love Zelda. I wish I had a week off from everything to finally immerse myself in The Twilight Princess!

Yay! That's some good news! My little Sony SureShot is still going after three years, but it's going a little bit slower every day. :)
