Big, exciting news!!!

I'll post more about Renegade later today and tomorrow, but first, my exciting news!!! I'm giddy with excitement about the fact that I'll be vending at Stitches West at the end of February!!! The wonderful Lisa of Poppy Flower Fibers and Wabi Sabi Yarns invited me last week to share her booth at Stitches West.

What is Stitches West, you might ask?

Well, it's a HUGE, annual convention, primarily for knitters, but also crocheters, spinners, weavers, etc.  Folks come from all over the country, particularly the Western half, to attend workshops with knitting luminaria and to spend time in the HUGE four-day marketplace.  That's where Lisa and I will be!  Four days of knitting and fiber heaven, with thousands to gazillions of knitters and other fiber lovers.  It's also perfect for me - located in the Santa Clara Convention Center, which is just a 30 minute or so drive away.

Am I a little nuts?  Yep!  Is there any way I'd be able to turn down this incredible opportunity?  Nope!

So!  I have a lot of patterns to draft and test between now and the end of February!  If you're a knitter - at any level (beginners are most welcome as well as encouraged!) - who is able to knit up one or more of my patterns quickly (a couple of days to a week), shoot me an email or leave a comment with your email.  I might also have crocheted brooch patterns, so if you're interested in testing those (you'd need to be both a knitter and crocheter - the leaves are knit), let me know!

I'm excited on many levels, including the exposure to so many knitters and yarn shops.  Lisa's yarn is gooorgeous - I'll be designing a few patterns specifically for her yarn (yay!).  I love this beautiful sock yarn in rich honeys and ambers and russets.

You will hear more and more about the preparation for this (FOUR days - good grief!), and I'll have lots of lots of photos of the big days, as well.

I don't know that I'll do that many craft/trade shows in 2010 - I'm thinking about one more in July and another in September.  I don't know that I'd do another huge holiday show.  But we'll see what happens!

Don't forget to let me know if you're interested in testing a pattern or two!

Thank you, June! I hope you do make it, Nomes - you'll think you have entered Fiber Heaven when you enter the marketplace - it's just that incredible. :)

Just let me know what you need. If I have what I need on hand (I have not been able to find size 17 needles ANYWHERE in town) I'll be happy to help.

Oh, you know I will. ( I did make the cowl pattern for the girls using size 15's and it is really, really cute. Just need to get is photographed to share.)

Yay, Heather! A lot of my new patterns will be on smaller needles, from 3 to 11, straights and double points. Thank you, thank you! I have a nice little group of testers.

I can't wait to see your photos!!!

Just found out we will be rockin' booth 643, not 842. Apparently there was an error, but 643 is ours! We're not on the corner, there will be an 642 to the left of us, but we are closer to concessions AND the rest rooms! :D

Thank you, Kateri and Kim! :) And happy New Year to you both!

That's very good news, Lisa! Closer to the concessions and facilities is always a winner! :))
