On motivation

Back when I was a manager, I was frustrated by my lack of skill/ability to find motivated staff (back when I first started being a manager).  So I learned how to do so.  And found myself fascinated by motivation and performance (my graduation/capstone research project for my Organizational Behavior and Leadership degree was about finding star performers)!

I'm sharing with you all my "secrets" via my Craft Venture column on papernstitch!  You don't have to be a business owner to learn something of value - anyone who has to hire folks (or who has a say in the hiring thereof) will hopefully benefit!  Or you might learn something about yourself - I sure learned a few things about my sources of motivation (or lack thereof)!

You can read this week's Craft Venture post about motivation, center of control (internal) and ability to learn - and it's complete with charts!

If you have questions or disagree or agree or just want to say "hi," shoot me an email or leave a comment on the post or right here!

You are such an inspiration, Brenda. I so admire how you are always trying to help others.

I'm off to read what is certain to be an excellent article!
