I'll post some "war zone" pics tonight (too wiped to get up right now).
Movers will be here at 8am tomorrow. I am in a panic. I called in "packing" to work today. I'm supposed to go to a faculty dinner at work tonight -- there's no way I can do it, if I'm going to get any sleep at all. Sadly, at 42, I need to get the sleep! At 22, I could have partied all night, still got the packing done, and gone out the next night. Ah well.
So, went to the new place today with two area rugs, two beautiful glass lamps (clearance!), my plants, some fragiles. I'm taking over clothes and more fragiles tonight.
Cats are FREAKING out. They periodically curse me out, then explore, then go bezerk, then need hugs and kisses. Fiona just inserted herself into my lap, demanding love and reassurance. Or maybe she just wants my ice cream (first sugar since Christmas -- needed it today!). Now I have TWO full grown cats on my lap (and my lap isn't THAT big, thank you very much).
I'm massively rethinking my job. I submitted my resume for a financial manager position (the hiring department has been asking me to apply for it).
Once I can safely extricate myself, it's back to packing.

New Digs
Move in date 2/1 -- can't wait (but not looking forward to packing). Two bedroom, w/d, HUGE yard, stained glass here and there, fireplace.
Cats will be very happy.
Will save 1.5-2 hrs/day in commute time (yay!).
Very woodsy, lots of critters, hear the creek and owls at night.
Gotta keep packing!

Happy 2006!
I am not only a college graduate, but my degree has been posted. In other words, it's official!
I'm still under the weather -- going to my doctor on Monday -- my cold might have settled in my sinuses. We'll see what she has to say.
I was SOOOO sick of orange juice, cough drops, cough syrup -- all MASSIVE forms of sugar -- that I swore off sugar at Christmas, which my folks can vouch for. I've eaten very little since, got myself a couple of South Beach cookbooks,8-10 lbs later and really not missing sugar at all, I'm a happier and healthier camper. Hope it sticks.
Just finished listening to Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell, which I can't recommend highly enough. 25 CD's! It takes some commitment to stick to it (3 weeks for me!), but it's an astonishing book.
I'm very happily NOT going right back to school Instead, I'll just work my usual crazy workweeks and not go to school/study/complete assignments until Fall or Spring. Then I'll go back for the next round: my master's degree.
I was absolutely thrilled today to find a cat toy that is a self-oscillating laser (reflected by mirror, no worry about kitties getting a laser directly in the eye). More thrilled, though, are my kitties, who are both wiped right now after an afternoon of wigging out.
Unfortunately, I've got some major work projects and deadlines to work on, so more later.
