Wasting time with yarn

Well. I didn't finish a single scarf this week. Dang!

I've been trying to make something from a gorgeous sock yarn hand dyed in golds, plums, burnt oranges, and a touch of brown. I've tried to use a diagonal pattern that I just couldn't make work with this particular yarn. I've tried making my own diagonal rib, and it wasn't turning out. I tried to do a simple garter (despite the yarn being so thin/lightweight), but just wasn't feeling it. I just tried another one, a lace pattern, and hated it, but not until I invested 1.5 hours and 20 rows.

Argh!!!

I've spent all week trying to knit something with this yarn, because I'm so in love with the colors.

Enough is enough. I need to finish something TONIGHT. I need a sense of accomplishment!

Well, as I prepare to watch Battlestar Galactica (THANK YOU Kris! for the heads up!), I'll put this yarn away to stop tempting me into wasting time, and will pick something bulky and quick knitting.
